Nestled in the vibrant Notting Hill, where culture and cuisine meld seamlessly, a culinary gem has emerged, catching the attention of food enthusiasts and critics alike. Dorian Restaurant, a chic and contemporary brasserie, has recently been awarded a coveted Michelin Star.
With both table and counter seating, we were pleasantly seated at the later where we chatted with the crew and got an up-close view of the culinary theatre.
Dorian’s menu, crafted by head chef Max Coen, showcases the finest ingredients in a modern British style. Each dish is a testament to the quality and creativity that earned Dorian its Michelin star. We stupidly forgot to take a photo of the menu so have had to dumb down dish descriptions but here’s a glimpse of some of the dishes we enjoyed:
White Asparagus Rosti, harmony on the palate. Tuna Carpaccio Tostada, fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavour. Artichoke Salad (and the Radicchio Salad), both sublime in their complex simplicity and balance, both star dishes on the night.
The veal T-Bone was cooked on an open flame to perfection (well this was the second attempt as chef Coen wasn’t happy with the first one and asked if we would be OK waiting for him to recook it, which we of course agreed too), accompanied by mouthwatering potatoes. A sweet end to a perfect meal was the creamy and moorish cheesecake.
From the attentive and friendly staff to the carefully curated drinks menu, every aspect of Dorian is designed to make you feel special. The atmosphere is both lively and intimate, we can’t wait to return.
If you’re in London and looking for a top-notch culinary adventure, make your way to Notting Hill and let Dorian enchant you.
